My first cold

I watched my first ever ACC tournament. The Wolfpack didn't do so well. They lost in the first round to Maryland. Stupid old Duke won the whole thing. We wanted Florida State to win but they didn't. The best part was that I got to see Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie, Evan, Aunt Kristin, Uncle Eric, Zach, Ashley, Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Holden, Hannah and Volpe a bunch! I also got to meet a new guy. His name is Brandt. He was pretty cool.
On Monday night, mommy and daddy went out to have dinner with their friend Hal. I got to stay with Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson. I played with Hannah and Holden. I got to watch a Baby Einstein video and my Aunt Kennete gave me a massage. I love her a whole bunch for that. Mommy and daddy do to because I slept really well on Monday night. On Tuesday mommy and I met daddy for lunch. We had a good time but I cried a bunch on the way home. My mommy said it sounded like she had beat me. She's funny. I was just hungry.
This weekend we did something really cool! We went to visit my Grandpa George and my Grandma Jean at their house in Mooresville. It was my first overnight trip. It took dad just over two hours to make the drive but I wouldn't know. I slept the whole way there and the whole way back. We had a good time visiting. I was glad that I got to see them and watch basketball. Evan was there too. He liked to kiss me. I kinda liked that too. And there was the coolest thing in Grandpa and Grandma's house. Mommy called it a "celing fan". I don't know about that but it went round and round. I was so facinated by it that I couldn't take my eyes off of it. You should really get one if you don't already have one. My mommy told daddy that they might have to put one in my room. I hope they do.
So, I'm trying to think if I've done anything new this week. Oh yeah, I kicked a ball that my mommy was holding and I reached up and touched a toy. I also like to play a game. When my mommy or daddy stick their tongue out, I stick mine out back at them. It is a funny game. Mommy and daddy have also been talking about letting me sleep in my crib. I am getting too big for the bassinet. That should be fun.
I think that is it for now. I have a very big week ahead. My uncle Nathan is coming to visit on Tuesday. I haven't met him yeat but my mommy says that he is her brother and that I will really like him. I can't wait to meet him. On Thursday night, my Mamaw and Papaw Frisbee are coming to visit. My Uncle Jeff is probably going to come too! So I have to go rest. I love you all!

Doc-toh
On Monday, I had my two month doctor appointment. Evan says "Doc-toh". Do you know what happened? That mean old nurse gave me three shots. One in my left leg and two in my right. I didn't like that one bit. I might have screamed bloody murder for a couple of minutes but then I calmed down. Mommy says that it is better than getting meningitis or some other disease but I don't know about that. It hurt! So I slept a lot that day. I went with my mommy running errands. She went to the drug store to pick up some probiotics for me. It is good bacteria that will live in my stomach and help my tummy feel better. Sounds a little strange but so far it has seemed to help so I guess I'll keep doing it. I am feeling much better from my shots now. I ran a fever for a little bit but the tylenol I took made it go away.
Wednesday was a BIG day. It was my mommy's birthday. She was once little like me. Do you believe that? For a birthday present, my daddy let my mommy sleep and he and I did all of the night time feedings. My mommy LOVED that! We went to lunch with Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie and Evan. It was my Aunt Misty's birthday too. What are the chances? Today we went and walked around Lake Lynn. I liked it a lot until about 3/4 around the lake. Then I lost my mind. I cried and cried and cried. My Aunt Misty ran with me back to the car so my mommy could listen to something else besides me crying. I was only hungry. I just wanted everyone to know.
What exciting things have I been doing this week? I've been laughing a lot more. I can now hold my head up for a couple of minutes without needing help. I am getting more control over my arms and legs every day. AND I have been sleeping for longer periods at night. My mommy and daddy are very happy about that!
OK, I am going to go now. I have a very exciting weekend planned. I get to watch my very first ACC tournament. Tonight we are going to Kristin and Eric's to watch the Pack play. Tomorrow, we are watching all the games at Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house. Saturday we are going to Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson's and we may stay home on Sunday (especially if Carolina is in the championship game). I'll write again soon. Love you all!

I'm 8 weeks old!
Guess what. Today I am 8 weeks old. Mommy says that it feels like I am 8 years old (or something about her aging 8 years since I was born). Let's see... what have I been up to the past few days? This past weekend something really cool happened. It snowed. It has snowed twice since I've been born. There wasn't as much snow as last time but it was pretty. On Monday, mommy and I went to hang out with Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie and Evan. Daddy went to work. We went outside for a little while. Mommy had me bundled up in a sling but it was still very cold so we went back inside while Evan played for a little while. I am posting a picture of Evan loving on me after we got through playing in the snow.
On Wednesday I went to a really neat place. It's called Trader Joes. It was a pretty cool place to sleep I tell ya. Today my Aunt Misty took care of me for a bit so my mom could go get her hair cut. She looks really pretty. Tomorrow I get to hang out with my daddy for a while. My mommy is going to something called a hockey game with my Aunt Misty. They are going for their birthdays. Then my Nana and Papaw are coming to visit. I am SO excited about that! I haven't seen my papaw since I was born. I think I might have even slept through it.
One more thing before I go. I learned to do something new this week. I can now smile and laugh because I want to instead of just doing it. My mommy and daddy love to try to see who can make me smile the most. I think my daddy wins most of the time because he is silly. OK I am going to go rest up for my weekend. I love you all. I'll write again soon.

Mortimer and Dr. P

Hey Bill, my diaper has shovel-ready stuff in it too!

Hey Everyone.
Whew, let me tell you, I had a hard time sleeping the other night. That's probably why my dad was hanging out with me just about every hour of the night. He must not know that I'm just a kid, because he was telling me some scary bedtime stories - mostly about some of the stuff that goes on in Washington.
I would share some of those stories with you, but I think they scare mom some too.
Anyway, here's a picture of me and and the stimulus bill - you can see we weigh about the same right now. He's a pretty big dude.

The last few days
Hey everyone! I thought I would write and let you know what I've been up to the past few days. On Tuesday I went with my mommy to visit her friend Robyn in Burlington. Evan and Aunt Misty went with us. We had a really good time in the car trying to see who could scream louder. I think it was a tie. Mommy and Aunt Misty just laughed and turned up the radio (which didn't have any music on it just white noise). When we got to Burlington we met Robyn and her daughter Abi. She was really pretty. Evan kept eating her food but I was content with my bottle. Aunt Becky and Elizabeth came too! Apparently, I met Aunt Becky at the hospital but she hadn't gotten to hold me so she cuddled with me a while. I liked that a whole lot! Elizabeth sang me a song. It was "It's a small world". I love her. She wanted me to come back to her house but we couldn't go that day. Mommy promised we would visit her soon. Mommy said she had a really good time seeing all of her old friends again. She went to something called preschool with all these people. That's so strange that she is still friends with people she has known for so long.
On Wednesday, I got to see Hannah again. Aunt Misty was watching her while Aunt Kennette went to the doctor. She's been sick and I want her to feel better. When Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson were done at the doctor, they came up to have lunch with us. And guess what. My daddy came home too! So Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Hannah, Aunt Misty, Evan, Daddy, Mommy and I all had lunch together. We missed Uncle Eddie a whole lot! On Wednesday night, I got to hang out with my daddy while my mommy went to have dinner with some friends from work. We had a good time. Mommy had a good time too until she woke up to feed me at 2:00 and started throwing up. She threw up and threw up until she finally told daddy to take me to Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house so I wouldn't get sick. So daddy stayed home with me all day on Thursday and I got to hang out with my Aunt Misty and Evan. It was pretty cool except I missed my mommy. She is feeling better this morning so daddy went back to work. I miss him when he is away. He did such a good job of taking care of me while mommy was sick. Mommy and I love him for that.
I have to go take a nap now. I am very excited because my Mamaw and Papaw Frisbee are coming to visit me today!!!! I will write again soon. Love you all!

Life's Hard.
Anywho, the purpose of the meeting, as it turns out, is to figure out how little Benjamin can start carrying his weight around the house, now that he's a month old. Me: What. The. Haitch. Eee. Double-Hockey-Sticks? You can not be serious. Yup, the old man wants me to get a job.
Now I'll admit that at first I was a little skeptical, but I've given it some thought and I think I've learned a lot this past month that I could put to good use out in the work place. As long as the job is more focused on skills like bottle-sucking, diaper filling, and crying...and doesn't require that I'm able to talk, or sit up, or feed myself, or control my bowels, I'm pretty much up to the challenge. I do worry about Mom some though - who is she going to feed and burp and change and rock to sleep while I'm out working for The Man? Aw man, no time to dwell on that - the alarm is going off and I've got to get ready to face the world...mmm, right after I hit the snooze bar just this one more time.
