My first trip to Asheville

Hey everyone! It has been a long time since I have written. I have been very busy! A week ago last Wednesday, mommy, Aunt Misty, Evan and I drove to Asheville to visit. It was a long drive and I slept a good part of the way but Asheville is a cool place. My mommy and daddy both grew up near there. I found out why my daddy sometimes says to my mommy "quit acting like you were raised in Candler" and why she sometimes says "quit acting like you were raised in Leicester" to him. They must be kidding each other when they say that because I think both places are very nice. I spent Wednesday and Thursday nights at my Nana Carolyn and Papaw Glenn's house. I got to meet my Nanny, Uncle John and Grandma Helen. On Thursday, we all went out to my Nana's work to meet her co-workers and to take her to lunch. I was asleep when we got there. My mommy and Aunt Misty laugh at that since they drove almost to the SC line to get me to go to sleep and I finally fell asleep about two minutes before we got to Nana's work! I hate that I was asleep and didn't get to meet anyone but my mommy and Nana told me that everyone thought I was cute. I think it helped that Evan and I were in matching outfits. Anyway, let's just say that lunch was interesting. Evan was a little demon in the restaurant and I just cried because I was hungry. My Nana, Aunt Misty and mommy laughed a lot because they said if they didn't they would likely cry. When we got back to Nana's work, mommy fed me. Something funny happened. Evan set of mommy's car alarm. It made a loud noise!

On Friday, my Uncle Jeff came over to go out to lunch with me and mommy. To suprise my Mamaw Maleada we went to her work. She made an announcement over the intercom for people to come meet me. They came in droves. It was fun! Then Mamaw kept me while mommy and Uncle Jeff went to lunch. That night, we went over to Mamaw and Papaw Frisbee's house. My daddy came in from Raleigh. It was good to see him. I missed him while we were gone. I think he missed me too because he held me for a long time even though he hadn't eaten yet and he was hungry!

On Saturday night, my Nana and Papaw Wilson, Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie, Evan, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Marcia and Uncle Eddie all came over to visit. My mamaw made a big dinner for everyone and we had a great time! On Sunday we drove home. We wanted to go to church with Mamaw (my papaw was sick but now he feels better. I'm glad!) but the power went off around 5:15 am and didn't come back on until almost 9. Church started at 9:15. My mamaw got dressed really quickly but I'm not as fast as her! Anyway, it was a very nice visit and I can't wait to go back!

What else has happeed? Last Tuesday my Aunt Misty, Evan, mommy and I went for a walk on the greenway. Some jerk on a bicycle lost control and clipped my stroller as he went by. He didn't even stop to see if I was ok. He just yelled "sorry" and kept going. My mommy and Aunt Misty were very upset but I was ok. Mommy said it was a good thing my daddy wasn't there and an even better thing that my Uncle Jeff wasn't there! Wednesday was my daddy's birthday so mommy, Misty, Evan and I went to meet him for lunch. We had fun! On Thursday, my Nana Carolyn came to my house. She had a meeting in Greensboro and came to see me after the meeting. I loved it! We went for a walk together on Saturday. I went with her shopping and she got up to feed me in the middle of the night. I am doing much better with sleeping and only get up once now. I liked to cuddle with my Nana at night when my mommy and daddy are sleeping. She left today and I am very sad.

Let's see what else has happened? I have grabbed a few toys and have started trying to play with the toys in my gym instead of having mommy and daddy do it for me. I rolled over from my tummy onto my side and I am cooing a lot more. I am eating more each feeding also. I consistently eat 5-6 ozs at each feeding. This week I will be 16 weeks old. My mommy says now she can say I am 4 months old. It is hard for her to break the habit of measuring me in weeks. OK, I have to go take a bath now. I love baths! I will write again soon. Love you all!

Good news!

I know it has been a while since I have written. I have lots to tell you. But mommy and daddy wanted me to start out by telling you that on Friday night I slept through the night. Daddy kept telling mommy to come and check on me because he was afraid something was wrong. Mommy wouldn't do it though because she was scared she would wake me. Last night I slept a long time but I just got hungry around 4:15 and I woke up. Then I slept until after 8. I was tired! I have also started holding my bottle for a little while when I eat and I can sit in my Bumbo seat for several minutes without any help!

Let's see. What else has been going on? Last Friday, I went with my mommy over to Aunt Jane's house. I got to meet some reallly special people. My mommy's aunt Terry and Gail were there along with her uncle Johnny and cousin Marsha. They took turns holding and cuddling me until my daddy came. Then I just wanted to be with my daddy. I love him. On Saturday night, we went to my mommy's cousin Rob's house. It was his 40th birthday party. He sure doesn't look 40! My grandpa George was there. I also got to meet mommy's cousin Carol and her husband Louis. They were really awesome! Do you know what happened while we were there? My cousin Rob's wife, Beth dressed up like the Easter Bunny!!!! She was funny!

On Wednesday, I went with my mommy to her work so she could take some test. I think they call it a TB test. I think she passed but I didn't see her study at all! On Thursday, I went to Pullen Park with my Aunt Misty, Evan, Aunt Kennette, Holden and Hannah. I rode the train!!!! It was so much fun. We had to leave though when I peed on my mommy. Next time I will try not to do that and we can stay longer! We went and had lunch with my daddy that day and I went to see Jennifer at Carolina Kids (my pediatrician). My nose was still stuffy. Turns out that I wasn't taking enough of the the medicine I was on to help with my reflux. When I went on the medicine I was only 10 lbs. Now I am almost 14. I am doing much better since we got that straightened out!

On Saturday, I hung out with my daddy all day. My mommy went back to work for the first time since she had me. She said she liked being back at work but that she missed me all day. I missed her too but loved seeing my daddy so much! That night, we went to Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house. Eddie's brother Scott was there with his three kids. We had an easter egg hunt. I slept through most of it but Scott Alan, Joeseph, Katlin and Evan sure had fun! Sunday morning the Easter bunny came to our house. He brought me an Easter basket full of good stuff! Mommy and daddy said that getting an Easter basket was fun but it wasn't the true meaning of Easter. Mommy read me a story about the true meaning of Easter from my kid's Bible. Thank you Jesus for dying for me!

Well, I gotta go pack. We are going to Asheville this week. I get to see my Nana and Papaw as well as my Mamaw and Papaw! I am really excited. I'll let you know how it goes. I love you all! Take care and check back soon.

What a weekend!!!!

Boy, oh boy! This was one crazy weekend. My mamaw, papaw and Uncle Jeff came to visit me on Thursday night. I loved seeing them all! My mommy went out that night so I got to hang with the original Frisbee clan. On Friday, my mamaw and papaw got me my lifetime hunting and fishing license. That was really cool. On Friday night I stayed with my mamaw and papaw while my mommy, daddy and Uncle Jeff went to dinner with their friends Sharon, Daniel and Lori. That is when the weekend got interesting!!!

While mommy and daddy were at dinner, my Aunt Diane (my Uncle Jeff's wife who was at home in Atlanta) slipped, fell and hit her head on the steps at their house. She split her head open. I don't know about you but that doesn't sound like it would feel too good. She was all alone so she drove herself to the hospital. She waited 8 hours and never got seen! She drove home (after much drama!) and called Jeff. My daddy took him to the airport at 5:30 in the morning on Saturday so that he could fly home to be with her. She finally got seen at another hospital and had NINE staples put in her head. She is feeling ok now but I was sure worried about her. I haven't met her yet but I know I love her and wanted her to be ok.

Mommy and daddy told me that dinner was interesting also because they saw some guy named Clay Aiken who apparently was on some talent show. He is from Raleigh and ate at the table next to them. My dad took a picture and my mom called him a tool. I don't know what that means. Also, someone left a cloth napkin close to a candle and it caught on fire. Sharon was the one who saw it. Good thing because the place could have burnt down!

I enjoyed my night with my mamaw and papaw and I loved seeing them. I liked getting in bed with my papaw. He made me laugh out loud. Mamaw and papaw also put together my rainforest gym. I like it a bunch! My mamaw got up with me at night so that my mommy and daddy could sleep. I loved that because I got to be alone with her. She is so great! On Saturday night, I slept from 9:30 until 4:00 in the morning! My mamaw and papaw thought there was something wrong with me but I was just sleepy!

OK- I am sleepy now. I'm going to go to bed. I love you all and will write again soon! P.S. Mommy says scroll down to the post "My first cold" to see her new favorite picture of me. Uncle Eddie took it while we were at Grandma and Grandpa Cable's house.

A visit with my uncle

Hi all! I had to write really quickly and tell you that I got to meet my Uncle Nathan today. I was so very excited! He lives in Columbus, OH with my other uncle, Jason. Nathan had a few days off from work and came to visit me! He held me and made funny faces at me. I made him laugh when I pooped on my mommy. It was so good to finally see him. I just wish he lived closer so I could see him more often. I love him. I am posting a picture of the two of us. OK- gotta go take a nap. My mamaw and papaw Frisbee are coming tomorrow. So is my Uncle Jeff!!! I'll write soon. Love you all!

My first cold

Hey everyone! Guess what. I am just getting over my first cold. I didn't like it very much but my mommy and daddy took very good care of me. My nose was really stuffy, my eyes were watery and I ran a fever every now and then. On Friday night, my mommy held me for three hours while I slept so I could breathe. She is super nice. I love her.

I watched my first ever ACC tournament. The Wolfpack didn't do so well. They lost in the first round to Maryland. Stupid old Duke won the whole thing. We wanted Florida State to win but they didn't. The best part was that I got to see Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie, Evan, Aunt Kristin, Uncle Eric, Zach, Ashley, Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Holden, Hannah and Volpe a bunch! I also got to meet a new guy. His name is Brandt. He was pretty cool.

On Monday night, mommy and daddy went out to have dinner with their friend Hal. I got to stay with Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson. I played with Hannah and Holden. I got to watch a Baby Einstein video and my Aunt Kennete gave me a massage. I love her a whole bunch for that. Mommy and daddy do to because I slept really well on Monday night. On Tuesday mommy and I met daddy for lunch. We had a good time but I cried a bunch on the way home. My mommy said it sounded like she had beat me. She's funny. I was just hungry.

This weekend we did something really cool! We went to visit my Grandpa George and my Grandma Jean at their house in Mooresville. It was my first overnight trip. It took dad just over two hours to make the drive but I wouldn't know. I slept the whole way there and the whole way back. We had a good time visiting. I was glad that I got to see them and watch basketball. Evan was there too. He liked to kiss me. I kinda liked that too. And there was the coolest thing in Grandpa and Grandma's house. Mommy called it a "celing fan". I don't know about that but it went round and round. I was so facinated by it that I couldn't take my eyes off of it. You should really get one if you don't already have one. My mommy told daddy that they might have to put one in my room. I hope they do.

So, I'm trying to think if I've done anything new this week. Oh yeah, I kicked a ball that my mommy was holding and I reached up and touched a toy. I also like to play a game. When my mommy or daddy stick their tongue out, I stick mine out back at them. It is a funny game. Mommy and daddy have also been talking about letting me sleep in my crib. I am getting too big for the bassinet. That should be fun.

I think that is it for now. I have a very big week ahead. My uncle Nathan is coming to visit on Tuesday. I haven't met him yeat but my mommy says that he is her brother and that I will really like him. I can't wait to meet him. On Thursday night, my Mamaw and Papaw Frisbee are coming to visit. My Uncle Jeff is probably going to come too! So I have to go rest. I love you all!

Doc-toh

Hey everybody! Let's see. What have I been up to since I last wrote? On Friday night, I got to stay with my dad for a while. Mommy and Aunt Misty went to eat Sushi (it has raw fish, can you believe that?) and watch the hockey game. When I woke up for my first feeding I had a great suprise! My Nana had come to visit. Papaw too but he was sleeping. On Saturday night, we went to Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house. I got to meet two very special people. Their names are Bunie and Ed and they are Uncle Eddie's mommy and daddy. Mommy says that they are my adopted Nana and grand daddy. I liked them a lot. Nana and papaw left on Sunday and I was sad.

On Monday, I had my two month doctor appointment. Evan says "Doc-toh". Do you know what happened? That mean old nurse gave me three shots. One in my left leg and two in my right. I didn't like that one bit. I might have screamed bloody murder for a couple of minutes but then I calmed down. Mommy says that it is better than getting meningitis or some other disease but I don't know about that. It hurt! So I slept a lot that day. I went with my mommy running errands. She went to the drug store to pick up some probiotics for me. It is good bacteria that will live in my stomach and help my tummy feel better. Sounds a little strange but so far it has seemed to help so I guess I'll keep doing it. I am feeling much better from my shots now. I ran a fever for a little bit but the tylenol I took made it go away.

Wednesday was a BIG day. It was my mommy's birthday. She was once little like me. Do you believe that? For a birthday present, my daddy let my mommy sleep and he and I did all of the night time feedings. My mommy LOVED that! We went to lunch with Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie and Evan. It was my Aunt Misty's birthday too. What are the chances? Today we went and walked around Lake Lynn. I liked it a lot until about 3/4 around the lake. Then I lost my mind. I cried and cried and cried. My Aunt Misty ran with me back to the car so my mommy could listen to something else besides me crying. I was only hungry. I just wanted everyone to know.

What exciting things have I been doing this week? I've been laughing a lot more. I can now hold my head up for a couple of minutes without needing help. I am getting more control over my arms and legs every day. AND I have been sleeping for longer periods at night. My mommy and daddy are very happy about that!

OK, I am going to go now. I have a very exciting weekend planned. I get to watch my very first ACC tournament. Tonight we are going to Kristin and Eric's to watch the Pack play. Tomorrow, we are watching all the games at Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house. Saturday we are going to Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson's and we may stay home on Sunday (especially if Carolina is in the championship game). I'll write again soon. Love you all!

I'm 8 weeks old!

Guess what. Today I am 8 weeks old. Mommy says that it feels like I am 8 years old (or something about her aging 8 years since I was born). Let's see... what have I been up to the past few days? This past weekend something really cool happened. It snowed. It has snowed twice since I've been born. There wasn't as much snow as last time but it was pretty. On Monday, mommy and I went to hang out with Aunt Misty, Uncle Eddie and Evan. Daddy went to work. We went outside for a little while. Mommy had me bundled up in a sling but it was still very cold so we went back inside while Evan played for a little while. I am posting a picture of Evan loving on me after we got through playing in the snow.

On Wednesday I went to a really neat place. It's called Trader Joes. It was a pretty cool place to sleep I tell ya. Today my Aunt Misty took care of me for a bit so my mom could go get her hair cut. She looks really pretty. Tomorrow I get to hang out with my daddy for a while. My mommy is going to something called a hockey game with my Aunt Misty. They are going for their birthdays. Then my Nana and Papaw are coming to visit. I am SO excited about that! I haven't seen my papaw since I was born. I think I might have even slept through it.

One more thing before I go. I learned to do something new this week. I can now smile and laugh because I want to instead of just doing it. My mommy and daddy love to try to see who can make me smile the most. I think my daddy wins most of the time because he is silly. OK I am going to go rest up for my weekend. I love you all. I'll write again soon.

Mortimer and Dr. P

Hey everyone! I've had a good week and wanted to tell you about it. On Tuesday I got to meet a very special person. Her name was Janice Collins. She is good friends wth my nana and is married to the preacher of the church where mommy went when she was still living in Candler. Her son David is a good friend of my daddy's from elementary school. Anyway, she came to visit to bring some yummy food. David and Myers (David's son) came too but they stayed in the car since David had a cold. I really liked meeting her. She took a picture of her holding me and sent it to my nana to make her jealous. That made me laugh!

On Wednesday something bad happened. My daddy got sick with the stomach bug like my mommy had last week. So mom and I went to the mall and over to Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house so we wouldn't get sick (even though they had it just the day before). I spent the night over there and my Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie helped my mommy take care of me. I also got to see Evan a lot so that was really fun!

On Thursday I went to see Dr. Tanaka. My mommy was worried about me since I don't seem to sleep much. He gave me some yummy tasting medicine that is supposed to help me not reflux. He also told mommy to let me sleep on my tummy if I wanted to since I like that a whole lot better and don't wake up every 15 minutes. Then I went with mommy to her doctor appointment. It was her 6 week check up since she had me. It has actually been seven weeks but she had to cancel last week when she was sick. Guess who I got to meet. Dr. Privette! Mommy said that she was the first person that I ever met. She delivered me. My mommy and daddy like her a whole lot since she was so sweet to them and cared so much for me while I was in the hospital. She called me a funny name. She called me Mortimer. Seems daddy was up to his usual tricks when mommy went to the hospital. He told the triage nurse that they were going to name me Mortimer. From then on, all the nurses and Dr. Privette called me Mortimer or Morty for short. Daddy is silly. Speaking of, he's home for lunch so I am going to go visit him. I'll write again soon. Love you all!

Hey Bill, my diaper has shovel-ready stuff in it too!

Hey Everyone.

Whew, let me tell you, I had a hard time sleeping the other night. That's probably why my dad was hanging out with me just about every hour of the night. He must not know that I'm just a kid, because he was telling me some scary bedtime stories - mostly about some of the stuff that goes on in Washington.

I would share some of those stories with you, but I think they scare mom some too.

Anyway, here's a picture of me and and the stimulus bill - you can see we weigh about the same right now. He's a pretty big dude.

The last few days

Hey everyone! I thought I would write and let you know what I've been up to the past few days. On Tuesday I went with my mommy to visit her friend Robyn in Burlington. Evan and Aunt Misty went with us. We had a really good time in the car trying to see who could scream louder. I think it was a tie. Mommy and Aunt Misty just laughed and turned up the radio (which didn't have any music on it just white noise). When we got to Burlington we met Robyn and her daughter Abi. She was really pretty. Evan kept eating her food but I was content with my bottle. Aunt Becky and Elizabeth came too! Apparently, I met Aunt Becky at the hospital but she hadn't gotten to hold me so she cuddled with me a while. I liked that a whole lot! Elizabeth sang me a song. It was "It's a small world". I love her. She wanted me to come back to her house but we couldn't go that day. Mommy promised we would visit her soon. Mommy said she had a really good time seeing all of her old friends again. She went to something called preschool with all these people. That's so strange that she is still friends with people she has known for so long.

On Wednesday, I got to see Hannah again. Aunt Misty was watching her while Aunt Kennette went to the doctor. She's been sick and I want her to feel better. When Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson were done at the doctor, they came up to have lunch with us. And guess what. My daddy came home too! So Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Hannah, Aunt Misty, Evan, Daddy, Mommy and I all had lunch together. We missed Uncle Eddie a whole lot! On Wednesday night, I got to hang out with my daddy while my mommy went to have dinner with some friends from work. We had a good time. Mommy had a good time too until she woke up to feed me at 2:00 and started throwing up. She threw up and threw up until she finally told daddy to take me to Aunt Misty and Uncle Eddie's house so I wouldn't get sick. So daddy stayed home with me all day on Thursday and I got to hang out with my Aunt Misty and Evan. It was pretty cool except I missed my mommy. She is feeling better this morning so daddy went back to work. I miss him when he is away. He did such a good job of taking care of me while mommy was sick. Mommy and I love him for that.

I have to go take a nap now. I am very excited because my Mamaw and Papaw Frisbee are coming to visit me today!!!! I will write again soon. Love you all!

My new friends

Hi everyone! I made two new friends today. Their names are Hannah and Holden. Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson came to visit and brought them too! I loved seeing them. Hannah is really pretty. She didn't want to hold me but she did watch my mommy change my diaper. That was pretty cool. Holden got to hold me on my big yellow boppy pillow. I loved hanging out with him. I think I am going to like playing with them when I get older. Tomorrow I am going to Burlington to my mommy's friend Robyn's house. Mommy says that she has known Robyn since she was just a bit older than me. That's really crazy! My aunt Misty and Evan are going with us. We are going to meet my aunt Becky, Elizabeth and Robyn's daughter Abigail. I am pretty excited about that. I will write and let you know how it goes. I love you all very much. Talk to you soon.

My Weekend

I've had a busy week. Sunday my Uncle Jeff came to visit. We had dinner with Sharon and Dan on Sunday night. On Wednesday I got a treat! I got to stay home with my daddy for a few hours while my mommy went to the doctor. I didn't know grown-ups go to the doctor too! I didn't sleep very well on Wednesday night so mommy and I went for a ride at 3:30 in the morning. We drove past the Krispy Kreme but it wasn't open. Mommy was sad. On Thursday I had lunch with Jane. I love her. Everytime she holds me I just go to sleep. Mommy asked her if she could come over in the middle of the night sometimes. Friday mommy and I went to the RTP and had lunch with Daniel, Lori, James, Misty and Evan. Oh yeah, and daddy! That night my friends Kristin, Eric and Zach came over. They brought some yummy food for mommy and daddy to eat. I just got to eat the same old formula. One day I'll get to eat that food too. Today we went to Misty and Eddie's to watch NC State play basketball. Everyone was really shocked that the Pack won. I was so excited that I didn't sleep much. Mommy and daddy are hoping that means I'll sleep well tonight but we'll see. OK, mom and I are going to the grocery store. My papaw George and mamaw Jean are coming to visit tomorrow. I am SO excited!!! I'll write again really soon. I love you all.

Life's Hard.

So this weekend Dad calls for a mandatory family meeting. I look over to Mom, and she's already rolling her eyes and putting her finger up to her head with her thumb pulled back - giving the universal sign for "I'd rather shoot myself." Mom cracks me up. Seriously. Remind me sometime to tell you about that thing she does where she sticks her tongue out at me - hilarious! She's got a gift, I tell you.

Anywho, the purpose of the meeting, as it turns out, is to figure out how little Benjamin can start carrying his weight around the house, now that he's a month old. Me: What. The. Haitch. Eee. Double-Hockey-Sticks? You can not be serious. Yup, the old man wants me to get a job.

Now I'll admit that at first I was a little skeptical, but I've given it some thought and I think I've learned a lot this past month that I could put to good use out in the work place. As long as the job is more focused on skills like bottle-sucking, diaper filling, and crying...and doesn't require that I'm able to talk, or sit up, or feed myself, or control my bowels, I'm pretty much up to the challenge. I do worry about Mom some though - who is she going to feed and burp and change and rock to sleep while I'm out working for The Man? Aw man, no time to dwell on that - the alarm is going off and I've got to get ready to face the world...mmm, right after I hit the snooze bar just this one more time.

Lunch with Daddy

Guess what. Today I went to have lunch with my daddy at his work for the very first time. He works a long way away so I slept most of the way there. We went to this place called Chick-fil-a. Mom and dad like the food but I just liked to sleep there. But when I'm a little older I would like to play on their playground. The good news is that my mommy can play with me too since she is under the height restriction to play.
When we were taking daddy back to work we ran into our friend Lori. She and my cousin James were there to meet Daniel. I loved seeing them (even through my closed eyelids!) This is a picture of Lori holding me and mommy holding James when they came to visit a couple of weeks ago.
This weekend my uncle Jeff is coming to visit. I am very exctied to see him! I am also going to go to my friend Hannah's birthday party. She is really old. She is three years old! I wanted to play with my cousin Evan some but he is really sick. My aunt Misty took him to the doctor and he has a virus which makes him run a fever. I hope he feels better and can play with me soon. Ok time to go take a nap. I'll write again soon. Love you all!

Hello world!!!!

Hi everyone! My name is Benjamin Wilson Frisbee. My parents call me Ben. I was born on 1/8/09 at 1:24 in the morning. I weighed 7 pounds and I was 20.5 inches long. My mommy and daddy have created this site so that all my friends and family can find out how I am doing. Check back occasionally and you can see how much I have grown!
